Getting Conversion Help

April 7, 2017

Getting people to help with the bus conversion is not easy.

One approach I have been using recently, with fairly good success, is to drive by the retirement home and spot retirees that are out walking.  I drive up and ask if I can treat them to a cup of coffee.  Sometimes they say yes and hop in.

I then drive them to the bus tell them the coffee is inside and then close the door behind them.  I tell them that I will return them home once they have completed a particular task.  Of course, I do leave a cup of coffee inside the bus. After all, I am not a liar…

I also provide the tools and supplies needed, I’m not expecting magic or anything.

In this case, this woman is cleaning the old weather-stripping from around the windows.  She did a good job and was only gone from her home a few days.

The windows now have nice new 3M Big D rubber seal weather-stripping and the woman got her cup of coffee. It is a win – win!

That is for sure the way to go….I may use that approach to my house cleaning. Where did you pick up that lady? She looks to be a good worker!

I found her just doing my routine cruise by the retirement home. She was a FANTASTIC worker! However; she saw me coming this morning and immediately bolted the opposite direction – I even had a bowl of ice cream to “bargain” with.

Did you yell out “ICE CREAM!” I’ve got it on good word that this particular retiree loves ice cream and would probably do an about face upon that promise!!

Hee, hee! She is a fantastic worker ~ cannot be outdone by people half her age!!

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
