I shot the following photos flying to breakfast a few days ago. I thought the cloud formations were very pretty (and bumpy).
These are the Manzano Mountains in west central New Mexico that run along the east side of the Rio Grande river. It is fairly typical to have cloud formations like these that seem to hug the mountains. Sometimes they are very spectacular as it seems the clouds are about to roll off the side of the mountain – but they don’t – magically!
My apologies for the canopy reflections in the images – hard to avoid that sometimes. That’s one of the benefits of an open cockpit airplane. However; one of the downsides would have been noted on this day as the outside temperatures were fairly cold.
