Johnson Creek Trip 2

June 13, 2012

Does packing for a trip ever end?  How about for a camping trip?  I suspect that it does not. Rather, one just runs out of time.  🙂  That’s generally how software development works too.  The code is never done – you’re just out of time/budget.  Well, I’m not out of time yet but will be pretty soon (trip info here).

The following is a photo of all my gear (supplies – junk) minus a bit of food and the normal equipment that I carry in my plane (tools, oil, tie-down straps, gust locks).  Hard to see but the green bag is full of quick food items – nuts, granola bars, pop-tarts, Ramen noodles, oatmeal, etc…  No, I don’t have any pots/pans nor heat source with which to warm up water. My RV-4 buddy is bringing his so no need for both of us to carry one.

I found this “Ozark Trail” two-man tent at Wal-Mart. I didn’t expect too much but after setting it up in my living room, it is rather nice for the price I paid.  We’ll see how well it holds up out in the environment for a few days.
