While near Kingman, AZ I received word from a friend from back east that he and his wife (Sam and Sandy) would be passing thru the southern portion of Arizona in the next couple days. So, I packed up and headed south – Kingman area to the Bowie area – northwest corner to southwest corner.
The drive was without drama and always beautiful! I took a more-or-less direct route down highway 93, thru Phoenix, and then I-10 thru Tucson and east to Bowie, AZ.
As luck would have it, we both arrived at Bowie, AZ at nearly the same time! We then made the short hop out to the BLM camping area known as Indian Bread Rocks. I’ve been at this spot before and enjoy it very much. This time, I was surprised to see quite a few people camping in the area. So, we had to work a bit for a spot but with some scouting with the Jeep, we found a good spot and got the motorhomes in without too much fuss.
Catching up with my friends is always a wonderful thing and I enjoyed this visit very, very much!
The hiking in this area is still fantastic – I highly recommend it! An added plus is that I was able to do some flying with my Phantom 3 and get some aerial photos/videos.
