Hiking… without a bike???

October 12, 2016

Today I tried something different.

Instead of going for a bike ride on the Colorado Trail, I went hiking instead.

It actually turned out to be very enjoyable!  Hiking the steep, rocky climbs were so much easier without having to push a 30 pound bicycle up the hill!!

I know… I know…. I am supposed to be RIDING the bike up that hill….

Sadly, I am fat and terribly out of shape or, is that, terribly fat and out of shape??  Either way, it is terrible.

In any case, the sites were beautiful!!  However; my messed up ankle does not appreciate the activity and made sure I was aware of its disagreement with the activity.

I started up Raspberry Canyon and worked my way over to Chaulk Canyon (I believe are the names). All the way up to a high point of 9,400′ – what fun! I was even able to snag a Geocache while out and about!
