I suppose there are several cliches when it comes to memory…
“Nothing lasts forever” comes immediately to mind.
I wasn’t sure that was true when it came to computer memory but recent experience tells me that it may be true!
My “handheld computer” – it’s not really a phone cause I hate talking on it but enjoy all the other features! – started acting up recently.
It would occasionally go black (shutdown) or fail to start. Then I noticed that the files I had stored on the microSD memory card were frequently NOT showing up. I would shutdown, re-seat the memory card, start it back up, and go on with my day. Finally, even this no longer worked.
I started to think it had something to do with the memory card. I pulled it out and put it in my PC, all was well. Then I decided to copy all the files off for backup purposes. Suddenly, even the PC started having problems with the memory card.
AHAH!! The problem! Indeed, memory does not last forever!
So, a new microSD card and the phone once again seems to be content.
