Too Positive

September 20, 2012

How do you avoid being TOO positive without being TOO negative??

I surely do not know.

I have an “advisor” that is extremely careful to never guess at or predict anything but the worst case.  I understand this.  It is a very effective way to always be right or to have a “positive” outcome – better than hoped for. It is realistic.

However; in being factually accurate, realistic, never predicting more than the worst case; the advice becomes incredibly negative.  The fear and uncertainty that it causes becomes all consuming.

I KNOW the approach and I know my response to it but I cannot seem to shake it. Sure, for a few hours, but then it catches up with me, my defenses fall, and I am sucked it.

I hate it. Please lie to me.
