Something has happened…

I think I may have gotten old.

For the first time – EVER – IN MY WHOLE LIFE – I have purchased a stool.

It is a really nice stool. It folds, it is light, and so on.

Actually spending money on one has forced to me consider the true meaning of a stool and its purpose in this great big universe.  I had never before taken the time to really stop and consider what  a stool represented.

If it is used to stand on and to reach things, then I suppose it is simply a tool – a thing to be valued.

I wanted one to sit on while I work.

That can only mean one thing….

I am old.

Or, I suppose, it could mean that I am lazy.

Worse….

It could mean that I am old AND lazy.

Oh my goodness….

No, wait!!

I’ve always been lazy – nothing new there – and never had a stool.  It is the OLD that has happened recently…
