The bachelor pad has a brand spanking new septic system!!
Another item off the list!
The fella’s showed up the day they said they would and had the work completed in two days – as promised.
I was originally told that I needed an “ATS” system (expensive) due to new regulations. However; shortly before the installation, it was discovered that my system was grandfathered so I could get away with a less expensive system. That was a relief – and will continue to be as the ATS system required six inspections over the next two years that added up to $2,000!!
I know… pretty expensive poo!! Speaking of which – reminds me of this post – from almost exactly seven years ago. Wow!
As you can see, the old septic tank was in pretty bad shape. The evaporation field was in even worse condition – having two cottonwood trees growing in the middle of it! The whole system failed inspection so a complete replacement was mandatory.
This big tank…
Went into this nice little hole!
I am quite happy with Frank’s Septic. They did good work, had good communication, saved me some money with the research they did, and were all very pleasant folks.

What is the bucket and PVC pipe contraption?
JD says
Hi Tom, I think you are referencing the third photo from the bottom. That is a lift station. The liquid has to be pumped up to the drain field. It is pretty common around here as the water table is high so drain fields are elevated.
