Why do so many people feel that they are unable to communicate without swearing?
Yes, all cursing bugs me – actually, a lot of things bug me. However; I can overlook a bit of it. It is the people that do not have any non-swearing adjectives in their vocabulary that REALLY bug me.
I used to think it was just the uneducated that did this. I now know this is not true. Possibly these people do not know how to express themselves, feel like they need to “show off” or “fit in” or something? I don’t know.
When confronted, it seems that many of these people really become interesting. I have heard the “everyone does it” and “it is socially acceptable now” arguments too many times – they make me sick. There are a lot of things that society has rammed down are throat and that neither makes them “right” nor “good”.
If you have a problem with profanity I urge you to get a handle on it. There is nothing good about it no matter from what angle you look.
