Excess Hair!

February 22, 2018

Hair!!  Hair has been a serious problem for the last few months.

It is EVERYWHERE!! I am pretty sure it is not mine. It seems to be coming from the two hairballs that run around here.

I decided some changes were in order so I purchased two things. Yes, this is my retail therapy at work!

The first was a vacuum. The Proscenic P8 Cordless Stick Vacuum had good reviews so I took a shot. I am very pleased with it. It does a good job pickup up stuff, is light, and has good battery life. Yes, I vacuum my bed spread, the couch, the tile, the cork flooring – everything!   The ‘clean-out’ is very simple and clean. Simply pressing a button causes the bottom of the container to swing away allowing all the junk to just fall out. It is best if you are holding it over a trash can! 🙂  Regardless; it is very simple!

The second item? A pet brush. Again, reviews are the answer and the FURminator Short Hair deShedding Tool ranked pretty high.

It has a little button that presses out the fur it has caught so is very easy to clean. Best of all, the bus boys love it too!! I let them give it a good inspection and then put it to work. Now they see me pick it up and they sprawl out on the floor for me to give ’em a good going over!

Between the big handful of hair that the FURminator extracts each day and the big hairball that falls out of the P8 vacuum after each run – the house is not looking too bad these days! Of course, my clothes still have hair all over them… I need another trip to Amazon!

On a similar vein, the boys have developed quite a skill. They are able to completely unroll a roll of toilet paper and transform it into a big pile of paper machete on the floor in less time than it takes me to notice what they are doing and run them off.

As you can see here – Buzz doesn’t even attempt to hide his guilt.

Woody, on the other hand, has the “What?? Me??” look down pat.

To make their task a little more challenging, I have invented a “toilet paper roll lock.” Patent is pending so don’t get any ideas.  Yes, the photo is of a roll that has been unrolled and then manually rolled again – by ME – of course!

As long as I remember to re-install the lock after I am thru with my business, the bus boys have been unable to transform a roll of paper so it is clearly working!

They are soooo handsome and innocent looking! I think I may give Amazon some business in purchasing that vacuum! Between Clancy and Finn we have some fur issues as well! Finn has not discovered the toilet paper….but boy he knows where the trash is..TROUBLE

I have ten cats and have had some issue with toilet paper shredding. My wife found a solution, she was able to create a cover made from a strip cut from the side of a plastic coffee can and twisted tighter. It wraps around the paper and leaves a slot for the end to stick out. Basically think of a snug plastic clamp around the roll. The cats no longer find the paper at all interesting.
