Broken Shore Power Bezel

November 22, 2013

We’ve probably all heard it a dozen times – always perform a walk around of the RV before moving it to be sure that everything is disconnected, raised, out of the way, and ready to go.  Right??

Well, I learned that this little rule applies to even when just moving the RV a few feet.

Ya, live and learn I guess.

My shore power chord was connected. The move placed too much stress on the shore power bezel/receptacle and it broke. The part mounted in the motorhome.  No biggie but I it bugged mRV Motorhome Shore Power Bezel Broken Replacemente. I don’t like broken things.

Searching the Internet, I found plenty of replacements for the entire assembly, at more than seventy bucks!  However; all I needed was the bezel.  I kept searching.

I finally stumbled upon just the bezel (and cap) on Amazon.com.  Still thirty dollars but that’s better than seventy!!

Replacement is a simple matter of four screws to detach the assembly from the side of the motorhome and three screws to secure the plug/wire assembly to the bezel.  Replacement took all of ten minutes.

I am happy!  It looks good and better, it is not broken.  I also learned yet another lesson and at thirty dollars, it was one of the less expensive ones.
