This past week I uploaded some more raw flying video footage from my Drift HD camera to my computer and I thought: “Self, you have a lot of good video footage but you have done nothing with it in at least six months. You should be ashamed.”
I am ashamed.
The problem is that processing the raw footage into video is a lot of work. Hmm… no, it actually takes a lot of time but not work – it is a sad day when I view sitting at a computer as “hard work”. Adding to the problem is that my opinion of what is a “good video” seems to be constantly moving higher and higher. Therefore; I have become very unhappy with the results of all my time. That disappointment is no way to encourage me to spend more time at it. So, the footage just sits on the cutting room floor – as it were.
In my ashamed and guilt ridden state, I put the following video together. It was taken recently and is of a Vans RV-12 over some beautiful New Mexico countryside. I am not happy with it, of course. Either the sun or the camera is in the wrong place, the editing is unexciting, no story is being told, the music is blahh… and so on. However; the day was beautiful, the scenery fantastic, the site of another aircraft floating thru the air spectacular, and I was in my element. So, I present what I have and hope you enjoy it.
I hope to put some good short videos together over the holiday – we shall see if I am successful.
