Bath Time

November 27, 2015

Bath time, again…

I last gave my home a good bath back in June, I think. While certainly not filthy, it was time for another bath.

Most state parks and campgrounds frown on the typical form of home bathing – using a hose to shower it down – so I’ve reverted to spit baths. At least that’s what we called it when our kids were little – put some spit on a napkin and start scrubbing. I suppose that is no longer socially acceptable either, oh well…

I pulled out my handy-dandy folding ladder – which I really love!!, put some water in a bucket, and started wiping. I always wipe a relatively small area with the wet rag and then dry it with a microfiber towel. So, this wash step is actually a two wipe process.

Giving a 40′ motorhome a spit bath is certainly not hard. However; there is a LOT of surface and it does take some time. Oh wait… The front is hard – I almost forgot. Getting all those baked on bug guts off is work – lots of scrubbing.

So, one pass around to clean and dry and then another to apply some spray on wax.

Yes, my arms were tired!

However; the final product always looks great and is worth the effort.
