I found a brilliant post by Carol and Livia (s/v Estrellita 5.10b) that introduced me to their fun-to-suck ratio. I wish I had thought of it as it is magnificent! Since I have added it to my knowledge base, I find it much easier to figure out whether or not I am enjoying a particular activity… [Read More]
Thanks Mom!
My Mom has been visiting me for the last week. She returned home yesterday. I don’t get to spend much time with family anymore and it sure was great to have some company. Of course, all the cooking and cleaning that she did was also VERY nice! Thanks Mom – I miss you.
Irene
I am watching hurricane Irene like the everyone else. I am not a “news” person – I am not a fan of twenty-four hour per day news and I certainly don’t spend my time sitting around watching it. However; this tropical storm has captured my attention. Initially, I was afraid for my boat. Now I… [Read More]
What’s wrong with the world
The story goes that G.K. Chesterton was invited to write an article on “What’s Wrong with the World?” His response was: Dear Sirs, I am. Sincerely yours, G. K. Chesterton Makes me stop and think….
Pursuits of the Heart
A heart that pursues those that God’s heart pursues. What a beautiful image. I heard this quote several weeks ago and it has stuck. It is wonderful goal for one’s own heart. There can be no doubt that “life” causes us to be so “busy” that we never have time to focus on what really… [Read More]

The emotions are shock, panic, despair, feeling you can’t live without your love. Withdrawal: You’re in painful… [Read More]
Is Mobility Good?

Transportation hubs are an interesting orchestra of motion. Some people are in such a rush, others do not seem to… [Read More]
New Face
It seems that many people are talking about face transplants. My current one (the original) has been heavily mauled by life so I started looking around for a new one. The following is the best that I could come up with….
Much Fruit
It is the branch that bears the fruit That feels the knife, To prune it for a larger growth And fuller life, Though every budding twig be lopped And every grace Of swaying tendril, springing leaf Be lost a space. Oh, thou whose life of joy seems reft, Of beauty shorn, Whose aspirations lie in… [Read More]
Deflectors
I think I’ve ran into a new type of human!! I am calling them “Deflectors” – these are the people that deflect all questions/repercussions away from themselves when they don’t do something, don’t do it well, or do it entirely wrong. Ok, maybe this type of human has been around for awhile….. 🙂 Maybe I’ve… [Read More]
